Focusmaxxing Privacy
Effective Date: May 26, 2026
Focusmaxxing ("Focusmaxxing," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a self-control app designed to help users reduce distracting phone use by blocking selected apps and requiring an intentional unlock action, such as scanning a registered NFC card or QR code.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Focusmaxxing collects, stores, processes, or syncs, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect or Store
Focusmaxxing may collect, store, or process the following information to provide app functionality:
Unlock keys: NFC card identifiers and QR unlock codes that you register in the App.
Blocked app selections: Apps, websites, categories, and app groups/loadouts selected through Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls APIs.
Blocking session data: Whether a blocking session is active, when a session starts or ends, lock status, unlock status, active block selection, and related session state.
Schedule settings: Saved blocking schedules, selected days and times, automated start settings, driving loadout selection, and related configuration.
Driving mode settings: Whether driving-related blocking is enabled, driving mode preferences, and related state needed to start or end driving-based blocks.
Usage and progress data: Streaks, daily progress, session duration, challenge progress, rank or badge progress, and other focus statistics shown inside the App.
Shield counters: Blocked app attempts, shield screens shown, shield action counts, and related analytics used to show progress inside the App.
Sports Mode data: Sports games displayed in the App, league filters, selected game or market, selected team/outcome, available outcomes, game title, market identifiers, score, period, live/final status, start and end times, pick status, result status, resolved outcome, resolution time, penalty lock end time, and timestamps for Sports Mode checks.
Sports tutorial and reminder data: Whether you completed the Sports Mode tutorial, whether Sports Mode reminders were scheduled, and notification state needed to show or cancel those reminders.
Subscription and purchase status: Basic App Store subscription status, purchase entitlement status, trial status, renewal eligibility, emergency unlock purchase state, and related access information.
Support and remote unlock data: Support code, remote unlock status, lock status, last-seen timestamps, and limited information needed to support remote unlock or support workflows.
Device and app state: Basic local settings, onboarding status, app configuration, notification preferences, and data needed to restore App state after relaunch or device restart.
Focusmaxxing does not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, messages, call history, general browsing history, or the contents of other apps.
2. How We Use Information
Focusmaxxing uses information only for app functionality, including to:
Start, maintain, and end blocking sessions.
Apply shields to apps, websites, or categories you choose.
Verify registered NFC cards and QR unlock keys.
Restore lock state if the App, extension, or device restarts.
Sync unlock keys, settings, and progress across your Apple devices when iCloud is available.
Show streaks, challenge progress, analytics, shield counters, and usage history.
Display Sports Mode games, let you choose a sports outcome, keep a Sports Mode lock active, check whether a sports outcome resolved correctly, and apply any Sports Mode penalty lock.
Fetch updated game status, scores, periods, final states, and market resolution data for Sports Mode.
Provide subscription access, purchase validation, and emergency unlock functionality.
Support remote unlock or support workflows when you use those features.
Send notifications, reminders, Live Activities, and status updates if you allow them.
Improve reliability, security, and app functionality.
3. Apple Screen Time and FamilyControls
Focusmaxxing uses Apple's Screen Time, FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks to let you select apps, websites, and categories to block.
Apple's Screen Time APIs use privacy-preserving tokens for selected apps and categories. Focusmaxxing uses these tokens to apply blocking rules. Focusmaxxing does not receive the contents of other apps, your messages, your private activity inside other apps, or your browsing history.
If Screen Time permission is revoked, Apple may invalidate these tokens and you may need to choose apps, websites, or categories again.
4. Sports Mode
Sports Mode lets you lock in a sports pick and keep your selected apps blocked until the game or market resolves. If your selected outcome is correct, Sports Mode can clear the sports lock. If your selected outcome is wrong, the App may apply a temporary penalty lock before unlock keys work again.
To provide Sports Mode, Focusmaxxing may store the selected game, selected outcome, game title, league or sport labels, market identifier, public outcome list, score, period, live/final state, start time, end time, lock start time, last checked time, resolved outcome, resolved time, and penalty end time.
Sports Mode may fetch public sports market and game data from Polymarket services, including Polymarket US gateway services and Polymarket Gamma API services. These requests are used to list games, update game status, and determine whether a market or game outcome has resolved. When your device contacts these services, those services may receive standard network information such as your IP address, request time, user agent or device network metadata, and the specific public API endpoint requested.
Focusmaxxing does not place bets for you, does not connect to a sportsbook account, does not collect gambling account credentials, does not process wagers, does not transfer money to or from sports markets, and does not receive your payment card information for Sports Mode.
Sports Mode is a self-control feature. It uses public game and market data to decide whether your blocking state should continue, clear, or enter a penalty period. Sports Mode results may be delayed, unavailable, inaccurate, or changed by third-party data sources. If Sports Mode cannot verify a result, the App may keep the sports lock active until a result can be checked or until another supported unlock path is available.
Your Sports Mode search text and league filter selections are used locally to filter the games shown in the App. The App does not need to send your local search text to a separate search service.
Do not use Sports Mode where it would be unsafe or unlawful to restrict access to your device or apps. Sports Mode should not be used for emergency access, health and safety needs, employment requirements, driving safety, navigation, two-factor authentication, financial access, or any situation where delayed access to apps could create harm.
5. NFC Unlock Keys
If you register an NFC card, Focusmaxxing stores an identifier for that card so the App can recognize it later.
You should treat registered NFC cards as personal unlock tools. Anyone with access to a registered NFC card may be able to unlock an active Focusmaxxing session when unlock is allowed by the current session mode.
6. QR Unlock Keys and Camera Access
If you register or scan a QR unlock key, Focusmaxxing stores the QR unlock code so the App can recognize it later.
Focusmaxxing requests camera access only to scan QR codes. Camera frames are processed for QR detection. Focusmaxxing does not record, save, sell, or transmit camera video or photos for advertising.
Anyone with access to a registered QR code may be able to unlock an active Focusmaxxing session when unlock is allowed by the current session mode.
7. Motion and Location Data
If you enable driving-related blocking features, Focusmaxxing may request Motion & Fitness and Location permissions to help detect driving activity or driving-related state.
Motion and location data are used only for driving mode functionality. Focusmaxxing does not sell location data, does not use location data for advertising, and does not build a location profile for marketing.
Focusmaxxing is not intended to track your precise location history or route history. Location and motion access are used only as needed to support driving-related blocking behavior.
8. Notifications and Live Activities
Focusmaxxing may request notification permission to show reminders, challenge reminders, scheduled block reminders, Sports Mode tutorial reminders, session status, streak-related reminders, and other App functionality.
Focusmaxxing may also use Live Activities to show active blocking session status, focus progress, or streak progress on supported devices.
You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings.
9. App Store Purchases and Subscriptions
Focusmaxxing may offer subscriptions and in-app purchases through the Apple App Store.
Payment processing, refunds, billing, subscription management, and purchase records are handled by Apple. Focusmaxxing may store basic subscription and purchase status so the App can determine whether paid features are available.
Focusmaxxing does not receive or store your full payment card number.
10. iCloud and CloudKit Sync
Focusmaxxing may use Apple iCloud and CloudKit to sync App data across your Apple devices. Synced data may include unlock keys, app settings, block schedules, usage statistics, shield counters, subscription access state, support code, and remote unlock state.
Some App data may remain local to your device unless or until the App specifically syncs it through iCloud or another Apple service. For example, certain active-session or Sports Mode state may be stored locally so the App can restore behavior after relaunch.
CloudKit and iCloud are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple's privacy practices and iCloud terms. If iCloud is unavailable or disabled, some sync features may not work, but the App may continue to store data locally on your device.
11. Remote Unlock and Support
If remote unlock or support features are enabled, Focusmaxxing may create or store a support code and limited lock-state information so a trusted support flow can help locate or update your remote unlock record.
Do not share your support code publicly. Anyone with access to your support code may be able to view or affect remote unlock status depending on how the feature is configured.
If you contact support by email, we may receive your email address and any information you choose to include in the message. Support communications are used to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, and maintain records reasonably needed for support, security, or legal purposes.
12. Analytics and Usage Statistics
Focusmaxxing may store local or iCloud-synced usage statistics, including session duration, streak progress, challenge progress, blocked attempt counts, shield display counts, Sports Mode lock status, Sports Mode outcomes, and other focus-related metrics.
These statistics are used to show progress inside the App and support core functionality. Focusmaxxing does not sell these statistics to advertisers.
13. Third-Party Services
Focusmaxxing may process data through third-party or platform services necessary to operate the App, including:
Apple App Store and StoreKit
Apple iCloud and CloudKit
Apple Screen Time and FamilyControls frameworks
Apple notification and Live Activity systems
Apple camera, NFC, motion, and location permission systems
Polymarket sports market and game data services used for Sports Mode
Third-party services may process technical information needed to provide their services, such as IP address, request metadata, device or browser metadata, transaction metadata, or account information managed by that third party. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
14. Data Sharing
Focusmaxxing does not sell your personal information.
Focusmaxxing does not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Focusmaxxing may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the App, or others.
15. Data Retention
Focusmaxxing keeps data for as long as needed to provide App functionality, maintain your settings, sync across devices, support purchases, resolve Sports Mode status, provide support, or comply with legal obligations.
Some data may remain on your device until you delete it, reset settings, remove unlock keys, disable iCloud sync, clear Sports Mode state through normal app flows, or delete the App.
Some iCloud data may remain associated with your Apple ID until removed through Apple's iCloud systems.
Support emails or legal records may be retained for a reasonable period as needed to respond to your request, maintain security, prevent abuse, or comply with law.
16. Data Deletion and Control
You can control or delete data in several ways:
Delete registered unlock keys inside the App.
Change or clear schedules, loadouts, and blocked app selections inside the App.
End or clear active sessions through supported unlock flows.
Disable permissions in iOS Settings.
Manage notifications in iOS Settings.
Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.
Delete the App from your device to remove local App data.
Delete iCloud app data through iOS Settings where Apple makes that option available.
To delete synced iCloud data, you may be able to go to:
Settings -> [Your Name] -> iCloud -> Manage Account Storage -> Focusmaxxing -> Delete Data
Apple's exact settings labels may vary by iOS version.
17. Security
Focusmaxxing uses Apple platform features such as local device storage, iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, Screen Time APIs, and system permissions to operate.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but Focusmaxxing is designed to limit data collection to what is needed for its core functionality.
Because unlock keys, QR codes, NFC cards, support codes, and Sports Mode selections can affect your ability to unlock apps, keep them private and only share them with people you trust.
18. Children's Privacy
Focusmaxxing is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is designed for users who can manage their own device settings, App Store purchases, and focus tools.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so we can help address the issue.
19. International Users
If you use Focusmaxxing outside the United States, your information may be processed through Apple services, Polymarket services used for Sports Mode, or systems available in your region. By using the App, you understand that your data may be processed where Apple, Polymarket, or relevant service providers operate.
20. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request information about personal data associated with you.
Because Focusmaxxing is designed to store most user data locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, many privacy controls are available directly through the App, iOS Settings, iCloud settings, or your Apple ID settings.
You may contact us with privacy questions or deletion requests.
21. Terms of Use
Focusmaxxing uses Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
